Gemstone Academy is a private school in Kitwe with over a decade of experience, teaching ECE through Grade 12 across two departments — our mainstream curriculum and a dedicated Islamiyaat Department. Every classroom is closely managed so that each of our 425+ learners is known, stretched and supported.

Alongside our mainstream curriculum, Gemstone Academy runs a dedicated Islamiyaat Department, giving Muslim learners a structured programme of Islamic teachings within the school day.
Learners in the Islamiyaat Department follow their own uniform guidelines in keeping with Islamic dress, alongside the rest of the school's day-to-day activities and standards.
Foundations first, then growing subject depth and independence as learners move from ECE through to Grade 12.
Phonics-led reading and daily writing practice build confident readers before anything else is layered on top.
Maths is taught with concrete materials first, so learners understand what the numbers mean before working abstractly.
Painting, structured play and early values lessons run alongside the academic day and build confidence early.
Science, social studies and ICT become subjects in their own right, taught by teachers who specialise in them.
Typing, research and basic computer literacy give learners a real head start before secondary school.
Learners in the Islamiyaat Department continue their Islamic studies programme alongside the standard curriculum.
A full secondary subject offering that prepares learners for national examinations.

Learners can join at any stage — ECE, primary or secondary — and stay right through to Grade 12 without changing schools.

Applications are reviewed as they arrive. Apply at least a month before the term you would like your child to start.
